A3 was nice enough to invite me to a tesla model-S launch party last night. Somehow he knows Elon Musk’s very attractive current-model mother. Free booze & a ride in a model-S.
The car is straight-up awesome. The torque is immediate and unending. Even with 5 big guys in the car it moved very quickly off the line - wilder was the unending force that you got between 30 & 60 mph.. Of note they ran the car all night on a single battery - yes, just going around in circles on a small track, but impressive nonetheless. The ride was very similar to my S4 w/  Ohlins - no dive/squat, minimal bodyroll but smooth over the few bumps there were. Big brakes looked and worked well - including an accidental smoky lockup (no abs yet) on my first trip in the car.
300 miles per charge, fast, sexy, usable. I want one.
Now someone has to figure out how i get a charger hooked up in my NYC garage.
